The Metaverse: A World of Endless Possibilities
Metaverse converges two ideas; virtual reality and a digital second life. It serves as a computing platform, similar to that of living a second life online.
By integrating virtual reality with job shadowing, it provides an innovative, engaging, and enjoyable platform for users to job shadow their mentors in a safe and realistic environment online that will not breach any confidentiality or any Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA) etc.
This will provide tangible benefits to the individual learners, who are the mentees, by streamlining the approval process for job shadowing. This translates into an efficient process by eliminating the complications involved, such as waiting for the mentors’ job shadowing approval and signing the PDPA form.
Moreover, certain jobs that are difficult to job shadow in person, such as a surgeon, pilot and astronaut, can be held online with the help of virtual reality. This is feasible because the user can experience a realistic version of the environment that would otherwise be impossible.
