SECURITY JUST FOR YOUTHS
The solution mainly revolves around a mobile application that provides a personalized experience for its users. The app will be entirely new and will not exist on the PULSE app. We have chosen to create a new app mainly because the existing PULSE app does not have a high adoption rate among youths and it can be difficult to market an app that does not appeal to youths as it is not youth centric.
So, we have come up with a more youth centric app that aims to ease the emphasis on achieving the best grades in school as the main route to attain success in life. More importantly, we aim to provide youths with the sense of security that they crave by equipping them with the relevant skills in the workforce.
Once users have become used to these features and have gained a sense of security from using the application, they are more likely to look towards Prudential to gain that same sense of security when they are purchasing insurance.
WHAT ARE YOUR SKILLS?
The application aims to enable skills exploration for youths to discover their soft skills, which can be achieved through the quiz that we will use to assess their skillset.
Firstly, PruLink aims to provide our users with the opportunity to reflect upon the skills that they think they possess by asking them to select their top skills in the app.
Next, PruLink will then calculate their proficiency in each skill by assessing them through the quiz and ranking these skills in the app. Users will be able to override their top skills that have been ranked by PruLink if they deem them inaccurate.
Users will also have the opportunity to view reports on the different skillsets to gain an in-depth understanding on their specific areas of weakness, suggestion for improvements etc. PruLink will provide a free full report and users will have to pay $3.99 to unlock all the subsequent ones, otherwise they would only be able to view the first paragraph for the reports.
FIND YOUR DREAM JOB
WITH EASE
Once the quizzes have been completed by the user, the system will make use of the user’s top few skills to gauge and generate a job recommendation for them. It would be attractive to youths as they can easily override the job recommendations and input their desired job instead.
THE MENTOR
There will be a mentor from the industry of the user’s recommended job and the user will then be given the option to choose to talk to the mentor. Should the user be interested in the mentorship, they will be able to choose between a free mentor that will be randomized and a one-off fee for a mentor that will be from the company of their choice. This would be attractive to youths because it provides them with the flexibility to cater to their needs.
Currently, our solution proposes Prudential’s financial consultants to step in as the role of financial consultant mentors for the finance industry. The app can be expanded to companies in other industries, such as Food & Beverage and Tourism etc, which can be monetized through providing exposure to the companies that will be featured on the app.
Often, we may have misconceptions about our ideal industry and/or jobs. Through this mentorship, the users will be able to establish a relationship with their mentors who will help guide their career paths. Users will also be able to seek advice from them and gain valuable insights into the industry to determine if it is suitable for them in the future.
JOB SHADOWING
Our users will also be able to opt in to shadow their mentors for a day.
This will be on a per application basis that are subject to approval of the mentors. After users have indicated their interest for the job shadowing, their respective mentors will be notified and have the right to accept or reject the application.
If the mentors are willing to accept their mentee’s application, users will be able to follow their mentors for a day and gain valuable exposure to how the job role in their chosen field runs by following their mentors on their daily tasks. However, these tasks will only include those that do not breach any confidentiality or any Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA) etc.
YOUR FEED
Our app will also enable our users to connect and share with their friends and other companies.
When a user views their feed page, the hashtags, captions, photos and/or videos uploaded by their friends are displayed. In addition to that, users will also see suggested posts that are related to Prudential.
They will be able to see what their friends are up to, such as the skills they are attempting to acquire and their experience. This will empower users to take actions toward self-improvement and understand that the road to success does not revolve around their grades, and there is much more to success than academics alone.
